GRIEVANCE POLICY AND PROCEDURE
Purpose of Grievance Committee
- Handle problems of members and their patients internally.
- Self-monitoring.
- Objective and anonymous investigations.
- Educate Providers and Patients and assist in the healing process.
- For all Patients and Providers of member clinics. All non-member clinics and patients will be referred to outside advocate services.
- The Grievance Committee should only get involved with the expressed and duly signed consent from the Patient. The committee is not to engage in any investigation that would jeopardize the Patient in any way.
Power of Grievance Committee
- The committee will only make recommendations to the Board of TOTA and if applicable to the membership committee.
- Refers to the proper authority or chain of command for grievances if not applicable for TOTA.
Members of the Grievance Committee
- Appointed by Chairman and approved by the Board of TOTA.
- Term is for two years.
- Committee will be comprised of at least, two patients and two providers and one at-large member.
Upon the receipt of a duly submitted grievance the Board of TOTA will respond within 10 working days.
